For my favorite standalones there is castle in the sky sword of the stranger time of eve patema inverted perfect blue and the already mentioned koe no katachi. My taste in anime is a bit different from others so my list is kinda wacky. Not that i have an opinion on it i just took one look at it and it seemed slightly too fan service y.

Also check out ecchimasters recommendationsnsfwif youre into that kind of thing. Death note was very gripping and the first 26 episodes were dope.
